Joseph is 23 years old. He started coming to Wednesday Night Study with Lexie. Depending on his baptism and good works to get into Heaven, Joseph was afraid of God when he first came to Bible Study. He trusted Jesus Christ that first night, rejoicing in his new found salvation. But, the next week a cloud came over him when Hy asked him about his spiritual condition. “I’m going straight to hell”, he said. “ I sinned again this week.” “Joseph,” asked Mr Hy, “were you alive when Jesus died for your sin? No, you were not yet born. And ALL of your sins were on Jesus when he died on the cross, even the ones you haven’t done yet. There is no sin that he didn’t pay for. And when you trusted him, all of your sins, past, present and future, were washed away. You stand perfect in his sight and he has reserved a place in Heaven for you. He lives in you now, and he will never leave you.” (Colossians 1:27,Hebrews 13:5) Every week, Hy shows Joseph and 8-10 other teens and adult men in his class, from the Bible how eternal life is truly eternal. And he’s teaching them how to walk daily, pleasing to the Lord. Joseph is growing stronger and we can even see the assurance of his salvation glowing through his countenance.
Libba is thrilled over the new believers and spiritual growth of the young boys and girls in her Wednesday class. 10-15 in all, they are wild, but they love the Bible and are memorizing verses! Mrs Mila has been faithfully leading 6-8 teens and young adult girls for several years. She emphasizes living a pure and holy life, by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Every Wednesday, we begin with the Pledge, prayer, led by Faithful and long time volunteer, Mr Mark, and a short message on God’s marvelous grace and New Testament life in Christ. Mondays, we begin and end with prayer and a Hymn, then a Fellowship Dinner and Hy leads a 1 hour Bible Study for 15-18 Business Adults. We are two churches! This week we are all going to The Gracias Choir Cantata at the UNO Lakefront Arena.
LAMB Ministries gives KJV Study Bibles to people who attend our Mondays and Wednesdays Bible Studies and Dinners. On Wednesdays, we give out Kid’s Bibles and we give Ryrie or Scofield Study Bibles on Mondays and Wednesdays to adults who need them. A generous donor gave us Kids Study Bibles last year and we were able to give one to every young person in our classes. We have new kids now and will need new Bibles for them soon! This Fall we have given out three Study Bibles on Monday night Bible Study and Dinner. We need one now for Joseph and for Mrs Mila and for several more adults. We have lots of Pew Bibles, but Study Bibles serve as teachers when we are not at Bible Class and learning God’s Word causes us to “grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ”. (2 Peter 3:18) Any gifts of Bibles or for Bibles would be greatly appreciated. All donations to LAMB Ministries are tax deductable.
