LAMB Ministries first founded in 1996 as an itinerant missionary evangelistic work is first of all a Christian Evangelistic and Discipleship Ministry to Inner City New Orleans youth, their families the urban poor, and also to the New Orleans Business, Professional, and Retirement Community. The Founder and Director is Chaplain Hy McEnery was born and raised in New Orleans and an original Member of The Chapel on the Campus while he was at LSU in 1971. Libba McEnery who grew up in Baton Rouge, and was a long time Member of the Chapel, is the Co Director of LAMB, and serves on the Board. Until his graduating to Heaven, Pastor Emeritus and Founder of The Chapel on the Campus, our beloved Pastor Donald Tabb, was the long time Chairman of the LAMB Board. Hardy Housman serves the Lord as LAMB's Secretary, and Cleve Altman is Hy’s life long friend and Vice Chairman. Kelly Kuchler, a veteran ministry tax accountant, is our Treasurer. LAMB is prayed for and supported by 7 wonderful Churches and Ministries and a number of generous individuals and families. LAMB was blessed greatly by long time Bible Teacher and mentor, Nick Kalivoda of The Radio Bible Class and by teachers, such as Rev Ron Seecharan, Jimmy Gill, Pastor Shannon Burns, and Pastor James Scudder. Lamb also has deep ministry and prayer relationships with many Churches across America!
We started our youth ministry in 1998, as Child Evangelism Fellowship of Greater New Orleans, an international Evangelistic Ministry to children. In 2005, after experiencing and seeing so much suffering and deprivation from Katrina, we realized that I John 3:16-18 must apply to CEF/LAMB! We needed to first of all preach the Gospel, and then to develop discipling relationships with the folks we reached for Christ. And, lots of those people were suffering, and had families who were suffering! Since 2002, CEF/LAMB Ministries began to bring in loving Church Teams from out of the city and state to help our people, and then later to rebuild their lives in the devastation and darkness that had become post hurricane New Orleans. Rebuilding not only houses, but lives with the Lord Jesus Christ as the center!
"Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." I John 3:16-18
We also realized that the Gospel is for all, not just for kids! For, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). And, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16). Our wonderful Chairman, Pastor Donald Tabb, led the way in 2009 transforming CEF into LAMB becoming an independent ministry forming a new Gospel focused and Bible teaching Evangelistic Ministry, Labourers About the Master's Business Ministries International, Inc. (LAMB Ministries) that now reaches everyone possible for Jesus Christ with faith alone in Him alone for eternal life, and which also gives practical council and help, encouragement, food, clothing, and more to those in great need.
Since becoming independent, LAMB Ministries has been holding two year round weekly Bible Studies with full sit down dinners, followed by verse by verse Bible teaching and training in evangelism both to Business Community adults and separately to inner city youth and their parents. Each summer LAMB holds many Evangelistic Summer VBS outreaches in urban New Orleans neighborhoods often working with local Churches reaching local kids for Christ. With our two LAMB Miracle Vans, we transport kids and adults to these Bible Studies, VBS events, many Christian Community and Church events, camping trips, and other Christ centered outreaches throughout each year. Director Hy McEnery also has an hour long weekly # 1 rated Christian evangelistic and politically incorrect Radio Talk show, The Founders' Show, every Sunday morning on WRNO, FM 99.5, from 8:00-9:00 AM and during the week on WSLA, AM 1560. Also, Hy is the Evangelistic Counselor and co-originator for America's only Live, Reality, Rescue, Talk Radio show, New Orleans Mission’s Desperate Reality, heard every Saturday night, from 10:00 PM till midnight, on AM 870, WWL Radio, among many other stations. And, Hy reaches into the New Orleans Business Community by serving as the Chaplain or Chaplain figure for several men's Clubs and organizations. Wonderful volunteer Teacher, Mark Bonial, joins LAMB every Week in our Wednesday Night Bible Study for Youth. He has led our Ministry Kids in a deeper understanding of God's forever covenant relationship with Israel. Beautiful and gracious Trachelle Carr grew up in LAMB, and is our part time Staff Member and Disciplinarian. Ken Naccari is an occasional and faithful volunteer teacher focusing on the Commandments and Teachings of Love by Jesus Christ. Brent Ershen of North Highlands Bible Church in Dallas graciously created and maintains our great LAMB Website, LAMBNOLA. Thank you, Brent!
The goal of LAMB Ministries is to reach as many people as possible with the clear Gospel of God's glorious grace! We plan to continue in this joyful work until the Lord Jesus returns, or until he calls us home! We badly need and greatly appreciate your prayers and support.
