“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19
“Mrs. Libba, Jesus is proud of me. I’ve been telling children how they can go to Heaven when they die!” Nine year old Everly is the second of four boys of LAMB’s lovely Teri, who trusted Christ through LAMB Ministries when she was eleven years old. “Well, let me tell you”, the little boy began, “like my friend today. She told me she’s afraid of dying and going to Hell. So, I told her that Jesus is God, and he’s her ticket to Heaven. I said he died on the cross for all our sins, and he rose from the dead. And, if she believes on him, he’ll make sure she goes to Heaven. She said she believed it!. So, I asked her to tell him. She did! And, my other friend, he kept hitting people. So, I told him that he’s so mad because he doesn’t know God. And, I told him about Jesus, and he believed me too! Jesus is proud of me, and he’s going to give me a reward in Heaven!” What else is there to say? Everly got it right because that’s what LAMB Ministries is all about. Conversations like this go on every time we pick kids up in our big white Miracle Van, and bring them to Bible Study, Church, or to any of our happy LAMB events.
The Lord has given LAMB Ministries two great vehicles for driving lots of people. He gave us a great house for serving them spiritual food from the Word of God and physical food for their bodies. Jesus Christ often reached the hearts of people as they enjoyed a happy meal together. His example showed us how we can do the same. So, at least twice weekly in our Ministry Center home, we serve hot home cooked sit down dinners with both New Orleans business, professional, and retired adults, at our Monday Night Bible Study, and urban kids and their Moms at the Wednesday Night Bible Study. The clear Gospel is always explained and the Bible clearly taught with new people coming and believing nearly every time. During the summer, we lead week long Vacation Bible Schools and Five Day Clubs where we reach many new kids for Christ who then join our regular home Bible Studies. We try to develop long term friendships with the folks who join LAMB Ministry groups, so that we can disciple them and encourage them in God’s wonderful Word and in their relationships with him. Sometimes they have desperate needs. We try to help. Sometimes they’re suffering. We try to ease their hurts. We pray for them and comfort them with the Bible. We try to teach people and ourselves, how to serve the Lord with integrity and to enjoy his fellowship through a life of service to God.
“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live, should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:14,15
