18 year old Lexie brought Josh over to the LAMB Van window to meet Mrs Libba. “Are you Lexie’s boyfriend, Josh?” “He is”, interjected Lexie. “And he needs to come to Bible Study.” He came that week. Josh told us he is surely going to Heaven, because he was baptized and he leads a good life. Josh needed to be Born Again and Lexie knew it. Three hours later, as he left Mr. Hy’s Bible Class glowing, Josh knew for sure that he was a forever child of the living God. For the first time in his some 20 year old life, Josh heard that Jesus Christ, paid the full penalty for all of his sins and the sins of the whole world when He died on the cross, and then rose from the dead and won for him his very own redemption. Mr Hy showed him from the Bible that, if he would only put his trust, his child like faith, in Jesus, the cross, and the empty grave by putting faith alone in Christ alone, God would wash away all of his sins, and give him the free gift of resurrection everlasting life… Heaven, a free gift! No religious works or good works were or are required for Josh or for any of us. Only faith was necessary! Josh believed.
Our 7 newest third generation LAMB Kids are growing rapidly in the Lord. Their Moms, sisters, and Grand Moms are teaching them God’s Word at home. They bring their Bibles each week to our LAMB Kid’s Church. They know how to use them. We remember well when their families trusted Jesus Christ, in the years before Katrina. They lived then in the Lower 9th Ward. A trusted friend rescued them from their homes before the storm, and they all ended up at the River Center in Baton Rouge. LAMB Board Chairman, Pastor Donald Tabb of The Chapel on the Campus in Baton Rouge, arranged to send these 35 members of our Ministry to Pella, Iowa to be blessed for the next several years by a strong Bible believing church and community. They have brought their strength back to the New Orleans 9th Ward, and are steering their friends to our Wednesday night Bible Studies. Last week, 11 year old cynical Lillian came with them, and yet believed the Gospel. God’s invisible church in New Orleans is growing - one New Birth at a time. All glory to God!
Please pray for LAMB Ministries as we give our all to lead New Orleans kids and adults to saving and life transforming faith in Christ. Our Monday Night Dinner and Bible Study for business, professional, and retired Adults will resume September 9th. All are invited. Pray that we can reach even more people with the Clear Gospel.
